CCP, thank you for introducing the monocle to the game.
We can all agree that the existing monocle is helpful in differentiating poor players from elite players, however there is a legitimate concern that the monocle is within the grasp of too many 'average' eve players - people may, for example, save up for a carrier but buy the monocle instead.
This will harm monocle sales, as elite players are put off by what could become a 'common' accessory. I would therefore urge to to introduce an 'elite monocle' (call it what you will), which should be available for the equivalent of not less than 10bn ISK.
Also, can I please request that the monocle looks different enough for people to be able to tell it apart from the existing monocle from a quick look at a character thumbnail.
The true elite of eve deserve something which reflects our status, and is firmly out of the reach of 'average' players.
Thank you for listening. This is not a troll - there would be a market for elite monocles.

There is some serious misunderstanding of how PLEX and Aurum work going on from the proponents of this thread.
Purchasing the monocle "with isk" doesn't show you as somebody who is able to waste 1bn isk on this piece of... code, lets say. Because the 1bn never leaves the system, it just transitions to another player.
Purchasing the monocle designates you as somebody who believes that CCP should be exempt from providing 4 months of subscription to somebody because of this awesome item they invented.
Plex work well because they bring in more players: they allow the cash-rich to subsidise a cash-poor player and in exchange receive a fair amount of isk, as determined by the player-driven market. Nex junk takes away these players' chance to continue playing by investing in-game time instead of real life cash. The isk you "spent" on it just transitions to another player but the plex goes away, leaving fewer players in the game every time a monocle is bought, even without counting the ones actively quitting.
